At Kimmison Jewellery, not only are we so proud to be able to create beautiful pieces of jewellery but we get to meet the most amazing people that become more than just clients, they become life long friends and a part of our family.
With all the negative news in the world, we wanted to explore the beautiful moments and people that life gifts us.
We hope that these stories will make you smile, inspire you and provide a gentle reminder that the celebration of love in all forms, must continue.
This is the first of a series of Kimmison couples we want to share with you.
Our first couple is Jess & Chris.
This is their story.
How did you two meet Jess?
Chris and I met in West End, Brisbane, on a Friday night on a street corner!
I met him through a group of his friends who were chatting me and my girlfriend up. They invited us for a drink at a bar down the road. I remember Chris just looking at me the whole time, whilst being very quiet.
When he had the chance, we exchanged numbers over a very cute puppy photo. We haven't stopped texting since!
Did you plan your engagement together? Or was it a surprise?
The proposal was definitely all Chris! I had no idea. It happened on Christmas Eve, whilst having all of my family beside me, including my grandma from Poland.
He took the scene from Love Actually, with those big white cards. I was lucky to have it all captured on film by my brother, who was crying happily in the corner. My family all knew, which I thought was so sweet.
Only when he got to the last few cards and read out '' You're my dream girl'' that it clicked in my head of what was really going on. Holy Jesus, I thought to myself, THE MOMENT is happening right now!
Jess finally found her Engagement ring from an antique store and came to us at Kimmison Jewellery to have it restored
Did you drop hints on the engagement ring you wanted or was it a surprise?
I remember going with my mother in law to look at rings to get an idea. I always had something in my mind that would be vintage & different.
Shooting weddings myself, I see a lot of ring designs. I knew for myself I wanted something that took my breath away every time I looked down at my hand. Something unique.
Chris's Mum being the woman she was, took me to literally EVERY antique store in Brisbane, I'm not kidding when I say every!

Did he discuss the purchasing experience with you?
Yes. He told me his bank thought someone was trying to take all his money!
He did tell me eventually that he visited a specific woman for a specific ring, and went back there a number of times to make sure it was ours eventually.
I wasn't lying when i came home and told him I found the one with his Mumma!
We hope you enjoyed reading this article just as much as we enjoyed creating it.
Thank you to Jess & Chris, for being great friends to myself and Phil, and we look forward to sharing many more memories together in the future with you both.
